Insurance assessments and appliance claims
When an appliance breaks down under an insurance policy, an inspection is usually required before anything happens. MyBosch provides express reports and inspections to keep that wait short. Once your insurer approves the claim, we’re authorised to repair, and we complete the work without further delay. We deal with all major and smaller Australian insurers, across Sydney.

How we actually do it
Report first, and fast, so your insurer can approve. Repair the moment they do. When you call, have your claim number handy, along with the appliance’s make and model and a short description of what happened. After the repair, parts are guaranteed under manufacturer guarantee for up to 10 years.
We don’t sell insurance or extended warranties, and we don’t decide your claim — your insurer does. What we can do is give them a clear, fast report on what failed and why, and get the repair done once they say yes.
Our 3 step process

Tell us about the claim
Call with your insurer’s name, the claim number and what the appliance is doing.

We inspect and report
An express inspection and a report your insurer can act on.

We repair on approval
Once your insurer approves, we’re authorised to repair and we finish the job without further delay. After-service is available.
Warranty, consumer law or insurance?
If your appliance is new, start with the manufacturer’s warranty. Beyond that, Australian Consumer Law can entitle you to a repair, replacement or refund for a major failure. Home and contents insurance usually covers damage from insured events like storms, fire or theft rather than wear and tear — though some policies add motor burnout cover.

Frequently asked questions
Do you handle insurance claims?
Yes. We provide express reports and inspections for appliance insurance claims, and we deal with all major and smaller Australian insurers including NRMA, AAMI, Allianz, Surewise, Budget Direct, Woolworths and Youi. Once the insurer approves, we’re authorised to repair and we get on with it.
Which appliances can you inspect for an insurance claim?
All of them. We provide claim inspections for fridges and freezers, washing machines, dryers (tumble, condenser and heat pump), dishwashers, ovens (gas and electric), stoves and cooktops (gas, electric and induction), rangehoods (slide, canopy, island and under-bench), microwave ovens and air conditioners.
Does home insurance cover a broken appliance?
Usually not for wear and tear. Home and contents insurance generally covers appliances damaged by insured events — storms, fire, theft — rather than a breakdown from age. Some policies add optional motor burnout cover. Check your policy wording. If it is covered, your insurer will usually want an inspection report before approving a repair or replacement.
Will insurance cover water damage from a leaking dishwasher?
Often the damage, but not the appliance. Many policies cover the floors, cabinets and walls a leak damages, but not the dishwasher that caused it. Check your policy wording. Either way, a report on what failed and why helps the claim, and we can repair the leaking appliance.
Is my Bosch appliance still under warranty?
Check your proof of purchase against Bosch’s warranty terms — manufacturer warranty claims go through Bosch first. If the appliance is outside warranty, you may still have rights under Australian Consumer Law, and some failures are covered by home insurance. We can inspect it and tell you what failed.
Is appliance insurance worth it?
It depends on the age of your appliances and the excess. Breakdown cover and extended warranties usually charge a service fee or excess on every claim, so several small claims add up. They tend to make more sense for older, expensive appliances than for new ones still under warranty. We don’t sell policies, so we have no stake in the answer.
What happens after my insurer approves the claim?
We’re authorised to repair, and we complete the work without further delay. After-service is available, and parts are guaranteed under manufacturer guarantee for up to 10 years.
Should I repair, replace or claim?
Check your policy first — if the appliance is covered, your insurer decides whether to repair or replace it. If it isn’t covered, get a repair estimate and compare it with the price of a new appliance. Our estimates are free over the phone, and we’ll tell you if replacing is the better call.
