Bosch dishwasher service and repair

MyBosch repairs Bosch dishwashers across Sydney, along with the Siemens, Neff and Gaggenau models made by the same BSH group. Most faults we see start with a blockage. A filter that isn’t seated properly lets food through to the wash pump, the drain pump or the waste pipe under the sink. We clear the whole path, and we can usually tell you what the fault is before we arrive.

What the job covers

  • Wash and drain pump blockages
  • Waste pipe clearing
  • Filter and interior cleaning
  • Soap dispenser faults
  • Heating elements
  • Electronic controls
  • F&P dish drawer pipework

How we actually do it

We clear the blockage path end to end — wash pump, drain pump and waste line — rather than replacing a pump that was only ever choked. Before anyone comes out, we ask for the make, the model and exactly what the dishwasher is doing, so the technician arrives with the right parts. That matters because a dishwasher combines mechanical, electrical and electronic parts with the job of heating water to the right temperature, and the symptom rarely points straight at the cause. An error code is a starting point, not a diagnosis. If a leak has already damaged your floor or cabinets, that damage may be claimable on insurance.

Not every dishwasher is worth fixing. If the repair costs more than a sensible replacement, we’ll tell you on the phone, before anyone gets in a van. It costs us the job, and it’s the reason people ring us back. We also won’t fit a dishwasher into a badly cut cabinet hole — pinched pipes cause leaks.

Our 3 step process

  1. Built-in wall oven beneath a gas cooktop and rangehood

    Call for a free estimate

Tell us what the appliance is doing. We’ll tell you what the fault probably is and roughly what it’ll cost. If replacing it is cheaper than repairing it, we’ll say so on the call.

  2. MyBosch technician fitting a built-in wall oven

    Book a technician

Happy with the advice? Book in on the same call. Give us the make, the model and exactly what it’s doing, so your technician arrives with the right tools and parts.

  3. MyBosch technician wheeling a washing machine up to a customer’s home

Same-day call-outs anywhere in Sydney, with parts already on the van, so most jobs are finished in a single visit. Parts carry a 12-month warranty.

How to stop your Bosch dishwasher blocking again

The most common reason a Bosch dishwasher blocks is a filter that isn’t sitting properly. Take it out, rinse it and make sure it clicks back into place. If the soap dispenser stops working, clean the filter and the inside of the machine before you book a repair — that’s usually the fix.

Our Bosch dishwasher was full of water. They cleared the drain pump and the waste pipe under the sink, and showed us how to seat the filter so it doesn’t happen again.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth repairing a Bosch dishwasher?

Usually, yes, if it’s under about 10 years old and the fault is a blockage, a pump, a seal or a heating element. It’s less clear-cut when the control board fails on an older machine, because that’s the most expensive part. Tell us its age and the fault on the phone. If replacing it makes more sense, we’ll say so.

Why is my Bosch dishwasher not draining?

The most common cause is a blockage. When the filter isn’t seated properly, food gets past it and blocks the drain pump, the wash pump or the waste pipe under the sink. Check the filter is clean and clicked into place first. If water is still sitting in the bottom, the blockage is further down and needs clearing properly.

What does E15 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?

E15 means the dishwasher has detected water in its base. A float switch in the base pan trips the leak protection, so the machine stops washing and may keep pumping out. The usual causes are a worn door seal, a leaking inlet valve or a cracked base. Turn off the tap under the sink and call us — it won’t clear on its own.

What do E24 and E25 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?

Both mean the dishwasher can’t get rid of its water. E24 usually points to a kinked or blocked drain hose, or a blocked waste connection under the sink. E25 usually points to the drain pump itself — something caught in it, or its cover jammed. Clean the filters first. If the code comes back, the blockage needs a technician.

Why is my Bosch dishwasher beeping and won’t start?

Start with three checks: the door clicks fully shut, the tap under the sink is on, and child lock is off. A tap symbol on the display means no water is coming in. Most Bosch dishwashers have no reset button — switch it off at the wall for a few minutes instead. If it still won’t start, the door latch or the electronics need checking.

Why are my dishes coming out gritty or still dirty?

Gritty dishes usually mean the filter is blocked or not seated, so dirty water is sprayed back over the load. Clean the filter and check the spray arms turn freely. If dishes are still dirty after that, the water may not be getting hot enough — a dishwasher has to heat water to the right temperature to actually clean.

Why isn’t my Bosch dishwasher drying properly?

Most Bosch dishwashers dry using the heat left in the dishes, not a fan, so plastic often comes out wet — that’s normal. If glasses and plates are wet too, top up the rinse aid. If they’re still wet after that, the heating element or the heat pump may have failed, and that’s a repair.

Should I call a plumber or an appliance technician?

Call a plumber if the problem is the tap, the water supply or the sink’s own drain. Call an appliance technician if the dishwasher won’t start, won’t heat, shows an error code or won’t pump out. We clear the waste pipe under the sink as part of a drain repair, so one call usually covers both.

How much does a Bosch dishwasher repair cost?

The estimate is free, over the phone, before anyone comes out. Tell us what the dishwasher is doing and we’ll tell you what the fault probably is and roughly what it’ll cost. Parts we fit carry a 12-month warranty.

Do you repair Siemens, Neff, Gaggenau and Fisher & Paykel dishwashers?

Yes. Siemens, Neff and Gaggenau dishwashers are made by the same BSH group as Bosch and share many of the same parts and faults. We also repair Fisher & Paykel dish drawers, which push water out through small pipes that tend to block, and every other major dishwasher brand.
