Bosch dishwasher installation and fitting

Most installation problems start with the hole the appliance goes into. Modern dishwashers need larger cabinet cut-outs, and their pipes pulse back and forth as water pumps out — so a pipe caught in a badly cut hole wears until it leaks into the floor and walls. MyBosch installs dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, fridges and washing machines across Sydney, and we get the space, the pipes and the power right first.

What the job covers

  • Dishwasher installation, including cabinet cut-outs
  • Washing machine installation and tap conversions
  • Wall oven installation, including resizing plates and panels
  • Induction, electric and gas cooktop installation
  • Integrated fridge installation, including water and ice plumbing
  • Appliance selection and specification
  • Sourcing high-end and hard-to-find units
  • Cabinetry, ventilation, plumbing and gas access

How we actually do it

We survey the site and work back from the space you actually have, rather than the appliance you’d like to fit into it. Induction is the clearest example. It needs more power from the fuse box, heavier grade cable to carry the load, and considerably more cabinet space for ventilation, because the electronics run hot and have no cooling fans. Getting that wrong is what causes failures two years later.

We won’t install a dishwasher into a badly cut cabinet hole — pinched pipes cause leaks, and leaks damage floors, walls and cabinets. And if an old oven space is wrong in both width and height, we’d rather rethink the install than force it: a new matching front panel and a toe panel cut on site, instead of changing the whole kitchen.

Our 3 step process

  1. Built-in wall oven beneath a gas cooktop and rangehood

  2. MyBosch technician inspecting a built-in oven, seen from above

    We check the space

We work back from the space you actually have: the cabinet hole, the pipes, the power and the ventilation.

  3. MyBosch technician repairing a built-in wall oven

    We fit it properly

Pipes routed so nothing gets pinched, power and ventilation sized for the appliance, and a test run before we leave.

Replacing an old wall oven?

Ovens sold today are smaller than old GEC, GE or Westinghouse units, and dimensionally different. Where only the height falls short, 20–60mm stainless steel plates match the new oven to the space. Where width and height both need work, a new matching front panel and a toe panel cut on site let the oven fit without changing your kitchen design.

Our new Bosch oven was smaller than the old cavity, so they fitted a matching panel cut on site. Saved us redoing the kitchen.

Frequently asked questions

How much does dishwasher installation cost?

A straight swap into an existing space, with water, waste and power already in place, is the simplest job. It costs more when the cabinet hole needs cutting, the pipes need moving or the dishwasher has to be hardwired. Tell us the model and the space on the phone and we’ll give you a free estimate.

Do I need a plumber or an electrician to install a dishwasher?

A dishwasher connects to water, waste and power, so the installer has to handle all three. We do the lot in one visit, including the cabinet cut-out. New water or waste lines and hardwired connections are licensed work in NSW.

Can I install a dishwasher myself?

A freestanding dishwasher going into an existing space, with water, waste and power already there, is a manageable DIY job. Integrated and built-in dishwashers are harder — the door panel, the cabinet hole and the pipe routing all have to be right. Most leaks we see from new installs come from pipes pinched in a badly cut hole.

What does an induction cooktop need to be installed properly?

More than a normal stove. Induction needs more power from the fuse box, heavier grade cable to carry the load, and considerably more cabinet space for ventilation, because the electronics run hot and have no cooling fans. Getting the ventilation wrong is what causes induction cooktops to fail two years later.

Is washing machine installation straightforward?

In most laundries, yes. The exception is a laundry set up with double spigots or double inlet taps — converting those to connect into the laundry tub pipework needs a plumbing change, which carries a minor additional cost.

Can you install a gas cooktop?

Yes. A gas cooktop needs easy access to the gas pipe, plus power to run the cooking, the cooling fans and the electric sparker that lights the burners. We replace old copper pipes with new flexi pipes. Some brands pair a gas cooktop with an electric oven below, which we fit together.

Do you install integrated fridges?

Yes. We fit fridge and freezer units properly into cabinetry, including the plumbing for water and ice dispensers. That runs from simple jobs, like door panels fitted to the front of a unit, through to complex integrated installations of Liebherr, Wolf Sub-Zero and Miele units in larger kitchens.

Can you supply the appliance as well?

Yes. Our work extends past repair into design, supply and installation during builds and renovations, including sourcing high-end and hard-to-find appliances. Because the team’s background covers building, electrical and kitchen renovation, we can often offer alternatives when the appliance you want won’t suit the space.
